Companies House Filing Dates - Annual Returns

The Annual Return is separate from a company's annual accounts. It gives a snapshot of key company information as at the Legal Return Date (LRD) or 'made-up' date. This information includes registered office, key activities, company directors, company secretary, the share capital and shareholders.

The LRD is usually the anniversary of the incorporation of the company, or the anniversary of the made-up date of the previous annual return registered at Companies House, if this is different to the anniversary date.

Filing Dates

Companies House will send a letter to your company's registered office to remind you when your annual return is due, normally about two weeks before the LRD. It will advise you on how to file the form electronically by using the Software Filing or WebFiling services.
